Field Operations Volunteer Descriptions

Set-up: Arrive 45 minutes prior to game and make sure that team water bottles are filled and ready to use, scorer’s table is set-up, cones are placed in appropriate place on the field, bathrooms are clean and unlocked, balls are on the end line and side line (occurs 5 minutes prior to game time and at the half), set-up and stock concession stand tables if applicable, put bags in garbage cans and make sure they are placed in the right spot.

End Balls: Place end balls along end lines and side lines before game and during half time. Also, retrieve and replace end line balls during the game.

Press Box Clock: Runs the clock on the scoreboard. Must ensure that clock is stopped and started based on referee direction (whistle blows).

Announcer: Gives a running commentary of the game over the PA system. Is also responsible for ensuring pre-game music is running and stopped prior to game time.

Penalty Timer/Official Game Clock: Responsible for ensuring that each player serves the assigned penalty time during the game. Also is the responsible for making sure the official game clock is stopped and started appropriately.

Stat Keeper: Records specified stats for each player and is the official scorekeeper for the game.

Stat Spotter: Calls the stats out to the stat keeper to help make sure all stats are captured.

Water: Brings gallons of water to the game for the team (only needed for away games)

Game Video: Videos the game-play for the team to review at a later time.

Take-down: Take down the scorer table and return to it storage, collect all cones from the field and return to storage, collect balls from field, remove trash for garbage cans and stands, take down concession stand tables, help coach return items to Berry.

Concession stand: Help with the set-up and take down of the concession stand, sell concession stand items during the game.
